Electric Daisy Carnival Wins Best Festival of the Year

The first ever Electronic Music Awards was held Thursday night at Willow Studios in the Arts District of downtown Los Angeles. The festival was a celebration of electronic music’s history and inclusivity – so there were no red carpets or long-winded speeches.

More than 1800 people attended the EM Awards in a festival-like atmosphere with three stages of music. There were performances by Moby, Paul Oakenfold, Juan Atkins, The Saunderson Brothers, Orbital, Illenium, Autograf, Goldfish, Kidnap Kid and Madeaux. Rufus Du Sol won an award for the best live show of the year. Sasha won ecord of the year for his remix of Rufus’ “Innerbloom.” Eric Prydz won the award for best DJ of the year while Cashmere Cat won for best producer of the year. Moby was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award and Juan Atkins took home the Innovation Award.

Electric Daisy Carnival won for best festival of the year. BIG PROPS to Pasquale Rotella and everyone at Insomniac Events for all their hard work in making EDC the best festival of the year.
