Massive Decrease In Arrests And Medical Calls At Ultra 2017

Ultra Music Festival this year was a complete success in regards to arrests and medical calls. Over the course of the three day weekend, there were only 35 arrests (out of the 150,000 attendees) which is a whopping 50% decrease compared to previous years.

The festival had 67 arrests in 2016,  showing that there is a continuous trend in decline of arrests since 2013.

Miami police Lt. Freddie Cruz stated, “Education, co-operation and everybody is maturing,” and attendees have been following their advice of enjoying the festival without being under the influence, staying hydrated, and being safe.

Only 59 people were transported to local hospitals over the weekend.

Ultra making the festival 18+ and placing amnesty boxes at entrances are only a few changes that have been made in order to create a safer environment. Hopefully, the dramatic decrease in arrests and medical calls will continue for the future.
