Due to the global pandemic and subsequent shutdowns across the globe, concert venues have gone unused over the last seven months. In an effort to utilize these spaces, Live Nation has decided to use concert venues as polling centers for the upcoming elections. Across the United States, Live Nation will be converting over 100 venues including four confirmed locations in Los Angeles, Austin, and Atlanta.
Two such venues include The Wiltern and Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, both of which have been frequently used for electronic music events in the past. Other confirmed locations include Emo’s in Austin and Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta. The conversion of these massive venues allows voters to feel safer in a larger space rather than the typical packed voting rooms.
Live Nation has announced that in addition to the opening venues for voters, they are also partnering with Civic Alliance and More Than A Vote. More Than A Vote is an organization comprised of Black athletes to open sports centers, arenas, and stadiums for voting centers. This comes as major news for all citizens in an effort to get more people out to vote in the safest way possible.
