Spotify Donates $500,00 To Save Venues Affected by COVID-19

As we all know, our beloved music industry has taken a huge hit from the Coronavirus pandemic. Through these tough times, it’s been clear that all people, as well as all businesses, are coming together to try and mend this huge break. Spotify is next to step up as they’ve decided to donate $500,000 to the National Independent Venue Association

This donation will directly impact 30+ venues that been affected by COVID-19. The company’s #SaveOurStages effort launched in October as they raise money for the most vulnerable and iconic venues.

Co-founder of the NIVA Emergency Relief Fund, Stephen Sternschein, claims:

As 2020 draws to a close, the live music industry enters month nine of no shows, no income, no federal support, and ever-mounting debts. Music is what connects us all – as Spotify shows us, it’s what helped our friends, our families and our communities get through this tumultuous year.

There were also be a new partnership rolling out in the weeks to come as artists have used their major platforms to explain how important it is to save our beloved venues.

Sternscein continues:

Everyone’s favorite artists started somewhere, and we’re immensely thankful to Spotify for helping us to tell these stories. The stories that artists like Bruce Springsteen, Lady Gaga, The Weeknd, The Strokes, and so many more began on the very stages that today are struggling to survive.
