Dutch Government Targets July Return For Festivals

In the United States, it is appearing that live events will begin closer to the fall but for other countries, the return of live events is seeming a little bit closer. The Dutch Government has disclosed that festivals may be possible in the Netherlands starting in July. One of those festivals known as Liquicity Fetival, released a statement stating, “The Dutch government has announced that they aim to allow festivals after July 1.”Liquicity Fetival’s statement continues to say that organizers who are unable to host the event this year due to a cancellation, will be reimbursed for the cost. Not only that, but the Dutch festival is promising full refunds to ticket holders if the event is canceled.

In addition to Liquicity Fetivals’s announcements, Lowlands (another festival in the Netherlands), announced that they will be hosting two separate trial events where 3,000 participants will be split into two even groups and will be required to present a negative COVID-19 test. The trail events will take place later this year and will help festivals both internationally and domestically, determine what on-site testing method works best. Liquicity is currently scheduled to take place July 16-18 of this year.
