deadmau5 and Lights are back with a new collaborative single entitled “When The Summer Dies.” This is the second track they’ve made together following 2018’s “drama free.”
Where “drama free” was a subtle downtempo offering, “When The Summer Dies,” sees deadmau5—real name Joel Zimmerman—harness his classic razor-sharp progressive house style. Lights keeps up with Zimmerman on every beat using pointed attacks in her delivery while maintaining a bouncy feel.
Coming this Friday, July 23 is an alternative mix for the track with a music video coming soon after. The music video will be especially impactful as it will be created entirely within a new gaming experience called Manticore. This virtual platform comes from PIXELYNX, Zimmerman’s new company he started with Detroit techno royalty Richie Hawtin.
