Coachella is officially in the crypto game. The world-famous festival has shared three collections of NFTs, all of which are redeemable for official Coachella merchandise.
The first collection is the “Coachella Keys Collection.” Each of the 10 digital keys will grant lifetime access to the festival for the holder of the NFT. These keys are purchasable by auction only, and given the monetary value of lifetime Coachella passes, prices could easily soar to six or seven figures.
The other two collections are far more practical and affordable. One collection is the “Sights and Sounds Collection,” which includes 10,000 photos from the festival’s history paired with original soundscapes. Owners of this collection can redeem a print of their photo. These are up for auction or the buy now price of $60.
The third collection is the “Desert Reflections Collection” which includes original Coachella posters from the famed artist Emek. 1,000 of these NFTs are available, and each purchaser will receive one of 10 random renditions of a poster by Emek. They are available for $180, and owners can redeem a copy of Coachella|The Photographs: 1999-2019 picture book.
“Only blockchain technology can give us the unique ability to offer tradable lifetime passes to Coachella for the first time ever. We’re excited about building new utility and community for our fans with NFTs, and in FTX we found the partner that we trust to provide us with infrastructure and support to help us usher in this new frontier,” said Sam Schoonover, Innovation Lead for Coachella.
All of Coachella’s NFT collections are on sale beginning on February 4 at 1PM ET. Click here to view all the collections and register for the sale.
Coachella will take place April 15-17 and 22-24, 2022. Passes are no longer available.
