Papa Khan Shares Funky, Bass-Driven Single, “Never Cared,” On Monstercat

Indonesian-born producer Papa Khan has returned to Monstercat with a brand new single, “Never Cared.” Existing within the subgenre known as color-bass, the track is an honest expression of feelings through intuitive sound design.

The lyrics are plain and clear in their truthfulness, building on the anxiety that comes from non-reciprocal relationships. Then when the beat drops, heavy yet glassy synths fall over one another alongside a minimal yet engrossing melodic line, acknowledging the release emotion that comes with letting go.

“For those who have been betrayed and hurt, this one is for you,” says Papa Khan.
