This past Saturday, two events in Europe raised over €1,000,000 in support of Ukraine. A State Of Trance boss, Armin Van Buuren hosted ASOT1000 #danceforukraine in Krakow, Poland, and WE ARE ONE took place in Bucharest, Romania.
The events, which were both organized by famed European promotion company ALDA, donated all the proceeds to their respective nation’s arm of The Red Cross. Van Buuren performed at both events in the span of one night along with other artists like Ferry Corsten, Tom Odell, and Vini Vici.
“We are extremely proud that we have been able to raise such a great amount for the Red Cross with both shows, in support of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. The power of music was tangible during WE ARE ONE and #danceforukraine. As a festival organiser, we turned our powerlessness into actual help, and that felt like the least we could do,” says Allan Hardenberg, director and co-founder of ALDA in a press release.
The continuing crisis in Ukraine has been a harrowing experience for the citizens of the beleaguered country, and a heartbreaking one for the rest of the world watching and reading through news coverage. The time is now for the music communities of the world to show our support.
