Is Las Vegas Done with Superstar DJ’s?

The bubble might have finally burst for some of the biggest DJ’s who make bank in Las Vegas.

According to PAGE SIX the bubble is about to pop for Calvin Harris, Tiesto and others who have taken up residency at some of Sin City’s biggest clubs.  Those DJ’s can demand upwards of $400,000 per night, which eats into the bottom line for clubs. And because DJs are on contracts, when those contracts renew, offers are expected to go way down according to an insider.

They can’t make giant profits if they are paying so much to bring in big DJ’s. That’s why the latest entry into Las Vegas nightlife is doing away with superstar DJ’s.

“Intrigue” will be opening it’s doors on April 28th. The new nightclub occupies the old TRYST nightclub at Wynn Las Vegas. “Intrigue” will be the opposite of a big DJ-driven club. It will be 14,000 square feet and include new lighting and sound as well as a glass-enclosed patio and a 1200 square foot private VIP club where no social media is allowed. You’ll be hearing contemporary party music that crosses over many different genres instead of beats from your favorite DJ.

Sean Christie, the VP of Operations at Wynn Las Vegas had this to say, “Wynn was the first in Las Vegas to embrace the deejay phenomenon at Encore Beach Club, XS and Surrender and will again usher in a unique concept with Intrigue while providing the highest level of luxury and service that customers expect from the resort.”

Tickets for opening night are a reasonable $20 for ladies and $30 for men. You can find more information HERE.

It will be interesting to see where Vegas goes with this, and we’ll of course keep you updated.
