Flume just celebrated ten years since the release of his debut album, Flume, and commemorated his long-lasting career with an unreleased demo from 2014.
The demo is entitled “Slugger 1.4 [2014 Export.WAV],” the exact name it appeared on the laptop Flume used to create the self-titled album. The story goes that the iconic producer was able to locate this computer right before the 10-year anniversary and discovered a few long-lost productions including “Slugger.”
“Slugger” is pure electronic music nostalgia that reminds many ravers of their musical obsession during the “Golden Age of EDM.” It’s also reminiscent of Flume’s 2016 album Skin with a futuristic bass and creative production that is still only rivaled by the best in the business.
This unreleased demo feels just as modern and innovative today as it would have in 2014, and it proves the long-lasting talent and quality of Flume. He also stated on TikTok Live that his legendary “Tennis Court” remix for Lorde will finally be available sometime soon.
