Detroit is the home of many house and techno pioneers, Jennifer Witcher, better known as DJ Minx, is one of the finest.
With no plans of slowing down her impact in the near future, Witcher announces her vinyl reissues and remixes of the legendary track “A Walk In The Park.”
DJ Minx teamed up with Factory 93 Records to commission remixes from her Detroit brother Seth Troxler, as well as Soul Clap and Ardalan. The package also includes a re-edit from Detroit’s First Lady of Wax herself.
Paving the scene for generations to come, Resident Advisor suggested, it “might be the greatest minimal house loop of all time.” The greatest part is, Witcher produced the track in 45 minutes while her husband took her kids to the grocery store.
She quotes in a press release about the remix pack, “My career has evolved so much in the twenty years since the release of ‘Walk in the Park’, it’s nostalgic to look back on it all. The fact that it took such a short time to create such a dynamic sound, still creates a glow inside me to this day. Not a single year has passed since its release that someone has not spoken of the track or thanked me for being the producer. This remix compilation features a culmination of producers who have grown into dear friends and have been incredibly supportive of me throughout the years. I am extremely excited to have them put a fresh perspective on a track that means so much to me.”
Dropping today is Seth Troxler’s remix to “A Walk In The Park.” Coming in strong with a gospel-like vocal overlay that leads into a deeper mesmerizing tone, the drumline takes over completely with the consistent keys, keeping the true minimal essence. It is the first of five remixes that will be included in this celebration package.
