Desert Hearts To Shift 2023 Festival From Lake Perris To LA Coliseum In Latest Move

From desert heat to city streets. Desert Hearts is coming to the big city now after they have made a surprising announcement that they will relocate their annual festival from its original location at Lake Perris to the historic LA Coliseum, under the torch.

As per their plan, they will shift their complete event and lineup to Los Angeles for a two-day outdoor party on the same weekend of May 6-7.

The event was originally going to last from May 4-8, providing nonstop music from Thursday to Monday, but the move to a new venue has caused them to condense the festivities to Saturday and Sunday with a run time of 2PM -12AM both days.

Desert Hearts is traditionally a camping festival, which found a new home at Lake Perris, California last year. However, with the change in venue, camping will no longer be an option, and the desert ambiance will be replaced by a city atmosphere.

The organizers have stated that they intend to utilize the vibrant nightlife of the Los Angeles relocation as they plan to organize after-parties in Downtown LA to keep the nights alive.

Regarding the sudden shift, Desert Hearts said in an Instagram announcement, “Due to recent changes in venue requirements and rising production costs, it’s become nearly impossible for independent festivals like ours to host camping events without compromising on the experience or burdening our community with high costs – something we refuse to do.”

Fans have responded to the post with an outpouring of support, and Desert Hearts line-up regular, Mary Droppinz, even commented, “DH is a state of mind, a community, a feeling, not a location – LA we’re gonna fkn cause it!” – accompanied by fiery emojis to highlight the empowering statement.

Many major artists on the lineup including Claude VonStroke, Skream, Lee Foss, and more will still perform, and the organizers promise to decorate the new venue with art installations, live painters, vendors, and other curatorial offerings to ensure an immersive experience up to Desert Hearts’ standards.

The announcement also included pertinent information for current ticket holders to the event. Everyone who purchased a ticket to the original festival had their tickets transferred to the new event with the overlapping costs immediately refunded.

All camping-related add-ons have been refunded as well, and those who would prefer a full refund instead of attending the new event can choose that option.
