UK Festival Glastonbury Granted Permanent Planning Permission At Worthy Farm

UK festival Glastonbury has been granted permanent planning permission on Worthy Farm in Pilton, securing its place for future festivals.

Glastonbury has held a rolling temporary planning permission contract since 2010 which was due to end in 2024. The local council had gone back and forth with Glastonbury Festival Events Ltd., the organizers behind the music event, but just recently approved plans for permanent planning permission.

These new arrangements will allow Glastonbury and Pilton Party; a thank you event and fundraising gig for villagers, workers, and locals in the Pilton area; to host events once a year with agricultural use of the land outside of festival season. The iconic Pyramid Stage will also be made a permanent fixture.

But Glastonbury is not the only festival with permanent residence at their host site. Tomorrowland has crafted a magnificent 60-meter-long handmade mosaic stairway called the Stairway To Unity at the festival’s permanently placed amphitheater in Boom, Belgium.

Glastonbury will be held June 21-25 in 2023 with headliners Elton John, Lana Del Rey, and Arctic Monkeys plus dance music favorites Becky Hill, Fatboy Slim, and Fred again.., and more names yet to be announced.

The initial lineup for the fully sold-out Glastonbury can be found below:
