Today, Convergence Station, the Denver establishment of Meow Wolf, announced the lineup for the June 3 edition of Danceportation, hosted by Justin Jay‘s Fantastic Voyage.
Danceportation is the event series wherein live music inhabits the psychedelic institution of Convergence Station. Fantastic Voyage (FV) will bring over 20 artists to perform throughout four stages in the whimsical space.
On the lineup is the FV boss himself, Justin Jay, the Dirtybird regular Ardalan, the house music expert Juliet Mendoza, as well as FV label regulars like Taylor Bratches. There is also an unannounced name on the roster who is sure to bring exciting sounds to the function.
Over the last few years, Jay has built FV into one of the most exciting and innovative forces in house music. The project started out by breaking the mold, initially existing as a house music band project helmed by Jay and frequent collaborators like Benny Bridges and Danny Goliger, the latter of whom is performing at Danceportation as well.
Now FV has made waves through the scene for its approach based on the pure fun that is found on the dancefloor. FV’s three-part five-year compilation, Five Years of FV, featured over 100 tracks. The label also has a series entitled Now That’s What I Call Bootlegs, which after nine entries, features dozens of janky, unauthorized remixes of artists like AC/DC and Lana Del Rey.
FV is also moving into the event space, hosting in-the-round sets with Claude VonStroke in Los Angeles, and massive takeovers like Danceportation.
