First babies, now drones. The crazy stories from EDC Las Vegas just keep coming.
A woman recently posted on TikTok to share that she was hit in the face by a drone during GRiZ’s set at the massive festival earlier this month.
Jacquelyn Haywood explained that she was smiling and having fun with her friends on the first night of EDC when a drone being used to film GRiZ doing his thing lost a bit too much altitude and crashed into her, striking her in the jaw.
Haywood shared that she is doing just fine. She had a little bit of light bruising, but she was still able to carry on and enjoy the festival throughout the weekend.
She also posted footage of the incident from the drone’s point of view, along with pictures of her group’s “new totem,” and added that EDC promoter Insomniac reached out to make sure that she was alright.
Reacting to comments suggesting that she should sue Insomniac for damages, Haywood said, “They’re good people, guys. It’s not that big of a deal and I really hope that drones can still be at shows.”
Haywood added that the drone pilot was identified by the company, but she hopes that they still have their job and wishes them no malice.
