Fragrance Brand Discothèque Launches Candles Inspired By Legendary Nightclubs

A new candle range from LA fragrance brand Discothèque has created a range of luxury scented candles inspired by iconic nightclubs.

The scents are described as “scents with soul” and feature a variety of nine options with the names of clubbing landmarks from the 70s and 80s plus a description of the scent selected for the unique atmosphere of each club.

There’s Paradise Garage that smells like “mouthfuls of purple rain, a taste of black current…rapture in an eight-second track, that sacred second between songs, violet and amber lights, a cyclone on the dance floor.”

Plus Hacienda, a “warm shock to the system, honey-colored light… a utopia for misfits, for wallflowers to bloom, almond tree blossoms on a crisp autumn night.”

And other candles called Chez Castle, Mudd Club, Le Baron De Paris Tokyo, Crisco Disco, Upstairs, Wag Club, and Milk!.

Founders Jessie Willner and Hanover Booth told DJ Mag, “When we set out to capture the essence of iconic clubs around the world, we knew there would be a fair bit of imagination involved… lest the outcome smell solely of cigarettes and booze. So we thought of how the clubs made those who were there feel, a combination of the atmosphere, music, and sensations associated with it. Then we formulated scents made up of notes that have been known to evoke similar moods or sensations… with some creative liberties, of course.”

Discothèque was formed to give a piece of the legendary parties of the 70s, 80s, and 90s and to evoke the feeling and soul in the scent.
