Insomniac To Build The Largest Festival Haunted House Ever

We’re a little over 24 hours away from Insomniac‘s sixth annual Halloween festival, Escape: Pyscho Circus. This year’s festival is sure to be another mind-blowing event as Insomniac is stepping up it’s production and treating fans to some exciting new immersive experiences.

Insomniac is touting four stages at this year’s event, across two music-filled days. Everyone from Kaskade, Eric Prydz, Duke Dumont, Tiesto and more will be on deck to deliver some frighteningly good tunes. Attendees can expect activations and enhanced attractions from Corona, Jagermiester, and Red Bull as they make their way throughout Insomniac’s twisted festival wonderland.

Debuting at this year’s sold-out event is Insomniac’s very own “Escape Asylum.” This attraction will be the largest haunted house ever constructed at a festival, and will immerse attendees into a creepy and frightening Asylum filled with all of those scary characters you’ve seen in Insomniac’s trailers.

Bunny, Director of Imagination at Insomniac Events, spoke to Insomniac.com about this year’s hair-raising attraction and had this to say:

We’ve had a traditional haunted house [at Escape] for the last five years. It’s been cool, but it isn’t on-brand for what the festival is. Escape is based off of a horror version of Alice in Wonderland; that’s where [the original] Escape From Wonderland came from, and now it’s Escape: Psycho Circus. In the story we’ve made, the Psycho Circus are criminally insane people who have escaped the Asylum. We’re building a 30-room haunted house, and everyone who goes through it is committed to the Wonderland Asylum. You’re given your mental history, and you have to fill out release forms. You’re put into a straitjacket, you’re given your medication, and a mask is put on for your protection.

Sounds pretty insane, huh? Insomniac will further enhance the Asylum experience with over 80 costumed characters who will interact with anyone who “dares” to enter the Asylum. Enter the Asylum again, and you might even get a different experience!

On top of the music and new attractions, there’s lots to see this weekend. A few tips: arrive early to get good parking and to avoid long lines for the attractions, dress warm as it gets cold at night, and enjoy the event responsibly.

The sixth annual Escape is sold out and kicks off tomorrow at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, CA. The event runs from 4pm-2am each day.

We’ll see you there!
