Disclosure’s surprise fourth album, Alchemy, is finally out with 11 tracks featuring no guest artists or samples, showcasing the brother duo’s untopped ability to churn out heaters.
Alchemy is a fully autonomous album, released independently and celebrating Disclosure’s new liberation from their previous major record label.
Musically, the artists are freer than ever, exploring genres and styles that inspire creativity and reflect their newfound sense of exploration.
There are plenty of classic-sounding Disclosure tracks full of funk and groove including “Brown Eyes” and “A Little Bit,” but also some very unexpected twists and turns.
“Higher Than Ever Before” is drum & bass inspired with an addictive high-energy beat and “Go The Distance” is a darker club anthem perfect for late summer nights.
Not to mention the smooth yet funky “We Were In Love” and the dreamy interlude “Purify.”
Alchemy was a complete surprise to even the most devoted Disclosure fans, announced on Wednesday, July 12 before dropping on Friday, July 14.
And fans in the UK got to celebrate the LP launch at a free party on July 13 at an undisclosed location before the sold-out show Friday, July 14 at The Cause.
Disclosure will not be immediately touring this album, but they did say in their initial announcement post on social media: “We’re just getting started.”
