Daft Punk’s Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo Features On New Travis Scott Song

Following Daft Punk‘s disbandment in 2021, member Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, is stepping out individually, contributing to the song “MODERN JAM” on Travis Scott’s new album, UTOPIA.

De Homem-Christo has received both songwriting and production credits on the track, and his influence on its sound is clear with the song’s aggressive edge.

Formed in 1993, Daft Punk is responsible for creating some of the most revered electronic songs of all time like “Da Funk,” “One More Time” and “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger.” The group won six Grammy awards from 2008-2014, including Album of the Year for their final project, Random Access Memories.

This year, they have steadily released archived material and remastered editions of tracks from Random Access Memories in celebration of its 10th anniversary; and the other robot, Thomas Bangalter, has returned to his roots, releasing a classical ballet score entitled “Mythologies.”

De Homem-Christo’s work on “MODERN JAM” reveals that, like Bangalter, he is continuing to make his mark on the global music scene, even if his time as a Daft Punk robot has come to an end.
