The Art Of Change Behind Elements Music Festival

Elements Music Festival will return to Long Pong, PA this August 10-14 for its sixth anniversary. What started as a one-day event in Brooklyn has now expanded to a four-day festival of music and art, and beyond the base of the festival is the intentions of Elements that aim to spread awareness for social change.

Back in 2020, Elements Music Festival implemented what is known as the Art of Change. The festival defines this as “A program dedicated to the Elements ethos of self-expression and community. The goal of AOC is to amplify marginalized voices and bring awareness through experiential activations.”

The Art of Change fund donates $1 of every ticket sold to a selected social or environmental cause. Last year’s Art of Change donated funding to Black artists to assist them in expanding their creativity and extending their voices both digitally and within the festival.

Elements recently announced their 2023 Art of Change initiative will be focused on promoting education and support for LGBTQ+ communities.

This year’s selected charity is The Trevor Project, a nonprofit organization focused on suicide prevention efforts among LGBTQ+ and questioned youths.

The Trevor Project offers a confidential hotline with trained counselors that people may call to discuss mental health, sexual orientation, gender identity, and more.

The festival will partner with Zalika Parsons and Vic Sin based out of NYC to implement a drag brunch, pride parade, and workshops that will support the AOC.

The Drag Brunch will be held on Sunday, August 13 at the Water Stage where $1 per bar sale will be donated toward The Trevor Project.

The Healing Garden will host a variety of workshops designed for self-expression and gender diversity. And lastly, the Pride Parade will close out the Water Stage encouraging attendees to join and celebrate all in the LGBTQ+ community!

If you’re attending Elements Music Festival, you’ve already contributed by buying a ticket, but be sure to get involved and check out some of the activities that will support this year’s Art of Change.

If you or someone in your life is struggling with mental health, gender identity, or sexual orientation please reach out to The Trevor Project hotline at 1-866-488-7386
