The daily lineups are here for Making Time festival, one of the East Coast’s best kept electronic music secrets.
Making Time will return to Philadelphia’s Fort Mifflin—a Revolutionary War fort on the banks of the Delaware River—from September 22-24, 2023.
Founded by heady Philly DJ Dave P in 2000, Making Time has grown from a grassroots event to a serious heavy hitter, all while staying true to its indie origins.
This year, Dave P has put together one of the most eclectic underground lineups on offer throughout the festival circuit.
Welsh breakbeat brothers Overmono will bring rave energy to Making Time on Friday, alongside restaurateur/label head DJ Tennis, hard-edged Ninja Tune producer Helena Hauff, and Detroit’s “one-woman funk machine” DJ Holographic.
Friday also hosts insane B2B performances from vinyl partners-in-crime Octo Octa and Eris Drew; Nick León and reggaeton innovator DJ Python; and otherworldly crate-diggers Lena Willikens and Vladimir Ivkovic.
Natural Wonder Beauty Concept—DJ Python’s collaborative project with Ana Roxanne—will follow up their debut album with a set at Making Time on Friday as well.
On Saturday, Making Time will host prolific producer Jamie xx of The xx, joined by punchy Palestinian techno DJ Sama’ Abdulhadi, and Hesse Audio king, Ben UFO.
Making time has also tapped DJ Nobu, The Lot Radio host DJ Voices, real-life sampler Carmen Villain, glitchy duo Chaos in the CBD, and Philly underground queen QRTR for Saturday. Arctic Monkeys and Depeche Mode collaborator James Ellis Ford will also perform.
Sunday is no joke either. Psychedelic producer DJ Koze will play just coming off producing Róisín Murphy’s upcoming album, Hit Parade. His set comes along with The xx vocalist Romy and “B.O.T.A” producer Interplanetary Criminal.
Acclaimed producer and DJ Avalon Emerson will play two sets on Sunday—one solo, and one with her indie rock band the Charm. Philly’s own techno pioneer Josh Wink will also provide a special “transcendental journey into 90s rave.”
