Presenting a finely crafted blend of their talents, “Pocketknife,” the latest collaboration between Australian producer EDDIE and the Juno Award-winning electro-pop vocalist Lights is out now on HypnoVizion.
EDDIE’s return to the label delivers yet another meticulously crafted midtempo bass track.
From beginning to end, the track holds an absorbing quality, characterized by its dynamic richness and a sense of inner turmoil. Lights’ vocals add depth as she sings, “I trust nearly everyone, yet I still carry a pocketknife.”
The composition boasts intense crescendos and precisely executed drops, complemented by Lights’ alluring pop vocals. “Pocketknife” further solidifies HypnoVizion’s push for a bass movement with lyrics that captivate and engage the listener.
When speaking about “Pocketknife” EDDIE comments, “First of all, I cannot explain how excited I am for this song to finally be out. It’s been in the works for roughly 2 years and it’s had many different versions. Clearly, we were so picky with how we wanted this to turn out and the end result was absolutely worth it. I love combining my darker/harsher sound with mesmerizing vocals, this time from none other than the iconic Lights. Working with her and getting to know her throughout this process has been a pleasure and I feel so much joy that this record was completed.”
