Lost Lands Prepares For 2023 With A Series Of Festival Improvements

It’s almost the most wonderful time of the year for bassheads: Excision‘s Lost Lands.

The festival will take place September 22-24, 2023, in its ancestral home of Legend Valley, Ohio, with a buffet of top artists from dubstep, space bass, drum & bass, and even bass house.

Among the heavy headliners like Black Tiger Sex Machine, DIESEL, Kai Wachi, SVDDEN DEATH, and more, the roster also features unique names to the traditional headbanger audience like Dimension, Trivecta, Wax Motif, and HALIENE all ready to blow basshead minds.

And while the dinosaurs are just waking from their slumber and attendees are warming up their necks, Lost Lands organizers have been working on a bevy of upgrades to make this bass paradise better than any year so far.

Bridge Between Worlds

A new pedestrian bridge will now be available over Route 13 between the campgrounds and festival grounds so guests can cross without needing traffic to stop. It will be open 24/7 from the moment camp opens on Tuesday until the entire festival ends.

This is one of the most significant improvements for traffic of both attendees and locals. In previous years, traffic would have to stop and a security officer would hold a rope to keep cars from driving while ravers headed to the grounds.

This not only causes a major bottleneck and backup, but it could be dangerous if a raver or driver isn’t paying attention. The bridge will create a separation between cars and people, ensuring a better flow of traffic and safety for all.

Entrance Improvements

A separate VIP entrance has also been created slightly away from the GA entrance and more GA lanes have been added.

Entrance to the festival should be much more efficient and those who paid several hundreds of dollars more to get the VIP treatment can now wait in a shorter line to enter.

Depending on the time, entering Lost Lands could get chaotic with tons of ravers, totems, and flow toys arriving at once. Adding separate lines and more lanes helps everyone get to the fun faster.

Expedited Security

Following the Beyond Wonderland at the Gorge tragedy, all festivals are taking a look at how they handle security.

Lost Lands has improved their metal detection technology to not only expedite and streamline the screening process, but to also ensure safety is the first priority for all attendees.

All ravers and headbangers want to head into a festival feeling safe and secure above all else so they can rage their faces off with their best friends, but it’s hard to not expect more thorough searches to take longer.

Technological advancements at Lost Lands mean better and simpler security.

Early Start

Friday’s music schedule will now also begin two hours earlier to spread out foot traffic and help early attendees avoid work rush hour.

Earlier start times will also spread out the number of people entering during peak time meaning all other amenities like showers and water filling stations will be much less crowded.

Take the opportunity to explore the festival during the daytime and take pictures before crowds get too big and your hair gets frizzy from headbanging.

Or check out local artists who you may have never heard of. One of them could be the next Excision.
