Today, Disney announced the addition of a sixth ship to its cruise line.
Named the Disney Treasure, the ship will include the same pop-culture theming that has become expected from Disney Cruise Line, with references to The Lion King, Marvel Superheroes, Star Wars and more.
According to a press release, the Disney Treasure will make its maiden voyage on December 21, 2024, leaving Port Canaveral, Florida for a seven-night cruise of the Eastern Caribbean. The ship will then go on to make other seven-night trips in the Eastern and Western Caribbean.
The Disney Treasure will carry 4,000 passengers and 1,555 crew members with 1,256 staterooms. According to the press release, four onboard suites will “pay tribute to the faithful feline companions of daring Disney characters,” and an EPCOT-inspired Tomorrow Tower Suite will overlook the top deck.
Food highlights on the Disney Treasure include a “Plaza de Coco” theatrical dining experience based on the 2017 Disney and Pixar film Coco, as well as “Worlds of Marvel” and “1923”—an upscale restaurant named for the year Walt Disney Animation Studios was founded.
The ship’s Aladdin-themed Grand Hall “will serve as the ship’s most prominent gathering space, inspiring wonder and exploration during each voyage,” and host character meet-and-greets and musical performances.
The Disney Treasure will also house “AquaMouse: Curse of the Golden Egg.” The ride features water jets that shoot two-person rafts through 760 feet of water slide tubing and past fun Mickey Mouse animations.
The ship will also have a Toy Story-themed splash zone, wading pool, waterslide and smoothie bar. Adults can retreat to “Quiet Cove,” equipped with an infinity pool and swim-up bar.
Disney’s most dedicated cruisers can reserve a spot on the Disney Treasure as soon as September 12, via the Disney Cruise Line Castaway Club. Bookings will open to all guests on September 20.
