Aphex Twin’s First Set In Four Years Is Now Available To Watch Online

Mastermind producer Aphex Twin‘s headline set from London’s Field Day festival last month is now available to watch in full.

The momentous occasion marked the idiosyncratic techno artist’s return to the stage for the first time in four years, playing for a full 90 minutes.

The complete set has been released by London-based radio and media platform NTS and (in the high tech fashion of Aphex Twin) features interactive 360-degree video, VR headset compatibility, and optional high-quality stereo audio.

During the Field Day performance, updated editions of Aphex Twin’s iconic Weirdcore-collaborative visuals appeared on screen, eerily melding his own face with those of music’s most popular artists today, including Stormzy, Dua Lipa, and Charli XCX.

The exciting performance coincided with some serious comeback hype, after he released a new EP Blackbox Life Recorder 21f / In a Room7 F760, in June.

Known for his obscure soundscapes and hard abstract beats, Aphex Twin has long been considered as one of the single most important electronic artists of the last 30 years, inspiring countless other musicians of all genres, from Radiohead‘s Thom Yorke to Tame Impala‘s Kevin Parker.

As a testament to Aphex Twin’s revered status as a cult-favorite visionary, an exclusive vinyl recording to mark the Field Day performance sold out in just one day. Only 100 copies were sold at £5 each, and have since skyrocketed in price on eBay.
