Amtrak Expands Night Owl Fares To Include Travel Between NYC And Boston

With a steady flow of top-notch music events rolling through cities like New York, Washington D.C. and Philadelphia, ravers all along the East Coast are no strangers to train travel. Now, late-night trips home will be even cheaper thanks to expanded “Night Owl” fares from Amtrak.

Today, the nationwide rail company announced that its special off-peak-hours fare will be available for trips between New York City and Boston. These trains depart between 7PM and 7AM—good news for Bostonians hoping to catch Eric Prydz‘s upcoming HOLO shows in NYC.

Amtrak’s Night Owl fare was previously only available for trips between Washington D.C. and New York, but now a trip from Boston to the Big Apple will only cost $20.

The expanded fare applies to coach service on Amtrak’s trains, which the company says includes “large comfortable leather seats, with plenty of space and legroom,” free WiFi, power outlets, and “no middle seats ever.”

Passengers can also travel with up to four bags, free of charge, including two personal items and two larger bags. Even better yet, those looking to sleep off a night of partying can book a seat in a designated quiet car.

Amtrak’s Night Owl fares also include trips to cities like Philadelphia, Baltimore, and more. Check out a complete list of fares or book a trip here.
