Elohim Makes Strong-Willed Decision To Cancel Tour In Order To Focus On Her Mental Health

Producer, DJ, and vocalist Elohim has canceled her remaining 2023 tour dates, citing her continued struggle with anxiety and depression.

Despite adding new tour stops at the end of last month, the LA-based artist who has prided herself on being an advocate for mental health, made the difficult decision to forgo the tour that would have run through mid-December.

In a heartfelt message on Instagram, Elohim wrote, “Four weeks ago, I was embattled by a wave that quite frankly was more severe than I have ever experienced. My mantra has always been ‘I have to go through it to get through it,’ and if you asked me last month I would’ve said that’s been the best perspective that’s worked for me. Up until now.”

During the first week of her tour, she began taking a prescribed medication to help her “get through it” and back to the place where she feels “most alive and happy”: the stage.

However, as the anxiety continued, she found herself increasing the dose—eventually taking five times the prescribed amount. This led to intervention from Elohim’s close friends and team, to whom she is grateful for showing their concern.

“They helped me see that if I continued down this path, I was putting my health and LIFE at risk,” she said, before closing with the message that she is getting help and will be back stronger with better tools to manage her struggles.

While it may be easy to advocate for mental health when feeling good, Elohim is admirably continuing to champion an important issue that affects so many—one in five adults in the U.S.—despite struggling herself. Her choice has been met with an outpouring of support from electronic artists around the world.

EDM Maniac also supports her in this decision and we look forward to dancing together again soon.
