Today, on World Mental Health Day, the non-profit Tim Bergling Foundation—founded in honor of Avicii after his tragic passing in 2018—has announced another edition of their Together For A Better Day concert.
Taking place on December 6, 2023, at the Avicii Arena in Stockholm, Sweden, the concert will focus on uplifting young music creatives and raising awareness of suicide and mental health challenges in young people.
Like the previous edition of Together For A Better Day, which took place in 2021, this year’s concert will feature music from a number of different genres, like classical, pop, country, hip-hop, and more. Artists slated to perform include Griff, Cherrie, Jireel, ADAAM, Thomas Stenström, and Yung Lean, among others.
Avicii’s “Hey Brother” collaborator Dan Tyminski will also perform. All of the artists at Together For A Better Day will receive support from a live band and symphony orchestra, with rapper Jelassi and actor Ayan Ahmed set to host the celebration. Additional artists and special guests will be announced at a later date.
Since legendary dance music producer Tim Bergling—AKA Avicii—committed suicide at the age of 28, the Tim Bergling Foundation has honored his legacy with a number of initiatives surrounding mental health such as a 2019 tribute concert to celebrate Avicii’s life, the debut Together For A Better Day show in 2021, and helping to curate music for Avicii’s posthumous album TIM.
Ten years on from the release of his debut studio album True, Avicii’s lasting impact is still felt throughout the global music community.
Earlier this summer, Avicii’s certified diamond single “Wake Me Up” became the first song by a Swedish artist to break 2 billion streams on Spotify. It’s one of just 40 songs to have ever reached the milestone.
Furthermore, a new documentary covering Avicii’s life and career is currently in production from Academy Award-winning producer Lawrence Bender.
