Dubstep DJ and producer Borgore has announced that he will cancel all of his shows through December 25, 2023.
The Israeli-born and Los Angeles-based artist announced the decision in a statement posted to his social media channels yesterday, alluding to the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, which has now claimed the lives of over 10,000 people in both Gaza and Israel.
At least another 1.5 million people have been displaced as well according to the Associated Press.
Borgore aka Asaf Borger—who welcomed his first child in August—shared that he will use the time away from the stage to be with his family and look after his own mental health.
“My family has to come first. These past few weeks have been incredibly difficult,” his statement reads. “I know how excited you all are for these shows, and it breaks my heart to let you down. I want to perform in an environment where I feel everyone is safe and when I’m in a better mental space.”
Borgore added that he will be back in time for a New Year’s run, during which he is booked to play Countdown NYE.
The versatile producer, known for hits like “Decisions (feat. Miley Cyrus)” and “Forbes” with G-Eazy, was scheduled to play in Fayetteville, Arkansas and Syracuse, New York this weekend.
Further canceled shows include U.S. stops in Salt Lake City, Charlotte, Tampa, Nashville, Seattle, Tempe, Denver, San Francisco, and two Canadian dates in Winnipeg and Edmonton.
At least some of the canceled dates will be rescheduled for 2024 and all ticket holders will be refunded at their point of purchase.
