Claude VonStoke will take a hiatus from house music to dive deeper into his bass alias Barclay Crenshaw.
The Dirtybird label head just announced the move on Instagram today writing, “Next year is a whole new chapter for me. As you know bass has always been a huge part of my identity even in house music. I’m taking a hiatus from Claude VonStroke and building something totally new as Barclay Crenshaw.”
VonStroke went on to share that his upcoming shows this December will be his last run before taking a break to focus on new music and touring in 2024.
It also appears that he may be stepping down from his role at Dirtybird, with the label being acquired by EMPIRE Music in 2022.
VonStroke continued, “I’ve left Dirtybird Records in good hands and my new project is going to be awesome. I’ll see you back in the underground,” before thanking his devoted fans for their “continued support.”
His final seven shows as Claude VonStoke will take place at a number of celebrated venues and festivals around the world, including Miami’s Club Space, Academy LA, London’s DRUMSHEDS, PROPER NYE/NYD, and Holy Ship! Wrecked.
