Dirtybird CampINN Has Been Permanently Canceled

Dirtybird CampINN is gone for good.

Today, Dirtybird Records and its festival partner Home Bass shared the sad news that the label-curated resort festival “will no longer be returning.”

A statement posted to Instagram reads, in part, “We are so grateful for the last 3 years of this beautiful and INNcredible event we got to spend together. A special thank you to the attendees, staff, performers, and artists that made Dirtybird CampINN what it is today.”

The festival ran for three editions from 2021 to 2023 at The Wyndham Resort in Orlando, Florida, as the “luxury” counterpart to the label’s beloved Dirtybird Campout.

It has been a difficult year for Dirtybird events and for smaller independent festivals in general. In addition to canceling CampINN, the label announced in April that this year’s edition of Dirtybird Campout would be postponed until 2024, after it was unable to find a suitable new venue.

The cancellation of Dirtybird CampINN also coincides with label-founder Claude VonStroke’s decision to step down from his role at Dirtybird and take a hiatus from house music, in order to focus on his bass alias Barclay Crenshaw. Dirtybird Records was acquired by EMPIRE Music in 2022.

“I got to the point where I was making like two tracks a year. I’ve turned into a festival promoter somehow and a label runner.” VonStroke said in a video message posted alongside the CampINN statement. “Now, I’m not running the label any more. I’m not doing CampINN. I am turning all my attention to the new Barclay Crenshaw project.”

“Thank you for going to CampINN. We put our heart and soul into that,” he continued.
