Much like Tomorrowland’s famous party flights, AirAsia passengers were surprised with an impromptu in-air rave during their flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to Bali, Indonesia.
In celebration of the airline’s 22nd birthday, flight attendants dimmed the lights and handed out glow sticks to travelers while Malaysian DJ duo BATE mixed from the front of the cabin. A video posted to TikTok by the airline shows flight attendants, passengers, and even a baby enjoying the extraordinary in-flight entertainment.
The video has since generated buzz online, with some remarking that the lively atmosphere may have interrupted the much-needed sleep of some weary travelers. However, the AirAsia crew also distributed eye masks and earplugs in each passenger’s party kit.
The dance-music-fueled bash continued with an in-flight quiz, in which lucky winners received free return tickets.
This isn’t the first time AirAsia has held an in-flight party. The airline held its first party in the sky last year to commemorate 21 years of service and the milestone of 700 million guests flown. In further celebration, AirAsia announced a limited-time 22 percent discount on all flights between January 8 and September 30, 2024.
