Lane 8 Releases Winter 2023 Mixtape

Lane 8

Lane 8, Daniel Goldstein, has just released the 2023 edition of his yearly Winter Mixtapes on This Never Happened. Goldstein is known for making tracks that take listeners on an emotional journey rather than focusing on the next best club banger.

Dropped since 2014, these mixtapes mark the beginning of each season within a calendar year. Consisting of Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter, each mixtape can span up to a few hours and showcase Goldstein’s favorite tracks of that season. Some of the tracks included in the mixtapes are unleaded IDs, some are his unreleased tracks, and others are songs of his peers that he enjoys.

Winter 2023 is a sonic masterpiece and is shy of running three hours long (two hours and forty minutes). Notable artists and songs included on the mix tape have Spencer Brown‘s song “Good Times,” an extended mix of “Round and Round” by Bob Moses, “Midnight in Montreal” by Rinzen, Sultan, and Shepard‘s “Under the Surface” and more. Many highly anticipated IDs are included in the mixtape, some of which are Goldstein’s unreleased songs, and others are unknown songs from other artists.

Lane 8 shows are notorious for showcasing the theme of presence, as This Never Happened events even have fans tape their phone cameras or take phones away entirely until the show ends. Lane 8 is beginning to announce his upcoming 2024 North American performances; get tickets here.
