John Summit Teases Forthcoming Collaboration With Of The Trees

John Summit has hinted at an unprecedented collaboration with Of The Trees.

Yesterday, the two breakout stars from opposite ends of the dance music spectrum shared some light discourse on X, formerly Twitter, at the end of which Summit alluded to a forthcoming partnership.

Responding to a thread started by Summit in which the house artist vocalized the importance of curating his setlists to a specific crowd or venue, Of The Trees wrote, “for me it’s never been about constantly showcasing my entire discography at every single show.”

The bass producer continued, “i’ll play my biggest tunes as much as I can but… i love DJing as an art form on its own and i’ll always play whatever feels right for each show/setting.”

Shortly after, Summit sneakily dropped the bombshell news, writing, “facts!!! i’m still mindblown from ur sunrise shambs set and why ur one of my fav artists and why im making music w u.”

Though his own productions have remained true to house music’s four-on-the-floor sound, Summit is no stranger to bass music.

The Chicago-born artist has frequently shared his love for the genre online and even collaborated with Subtronics in several high-profile performances, most notably at last year’s EDC Las Vegas–a set that won B2B Set of the Year at EDM Maniac’s 2023 EDMMY Awards.

While Summit has been rising to house music superstardom, Of The Trees has been quietly staking his claim as one of the biggest up-and-coming producers in the experimental bass realm.

In 2023, the Maine-born, Colorado-based artist embarked on his first headline tour, which included a show at Red Rocks. His Memory Palace Records has also picked up considerable steam, bolstered by releases from Esseks, LYNY and another artist who knows a thing or two about house music, Barclay Crenshaw.

Neither Summit nor Of The Trees have formally confirmed a collaboration, but with Summit’s debut album on the way, it is very possible we could see a mashup from them in the near future.
