Tomorrowland Announces Partnership With Caliverse, Bringing Famed Festival Into The Metaverse

Tomorrowland has announced a partnership with Caliverse, a new “hyper-realistic” metaverse platform from the minds at Lotte Data Communication Company.

Unveiled yesterday at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, the partnership will facilitate the creation of a “next-generation metaverse festival” within Caliverse’s MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online) environment.

Caliverse officially rolled out its metaverse platform at CES 2023, giving users the ability to buy land, buildings and avatars using NFTs, shop in a virtual reality shopping mall and attend concerts with up to 65,000 spectators.

Few details are currently available, but Tomorrowland has invited fans to “imagine a massive festival experience within Caliverse Sub-planet, where Tomorrowland’s iconic stages come to life through state-of-the-art graphics.”

“This partnership will offer you, the People of Tomorrow, an immersive and unforgettable digital journey, fostering unprecedented connections across the world,” a Tomorrowland statement continues.

As Caliverse continues to expand its offerings with new zones within the metaverse, K-Pop group NMIXX and renowned Brazilian DJ Alok will both perform in the Caliverse this year.

Currently, Caliverse is only available for “pioneer” NFT holders, but as the company continues to secure partnerships with an array of major brands like Givenchy, Hyundai, 7 Eleven and now Tomorrowland, there’s no telling what might be in store as a result of this unprecedented new technology.
