California Grassroots Festival, Shabang Unveils Tenth Anniversary Lineup

San Luis Obispo, California’s Shabang Music, Arts & Camping Festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. Today, the grassroots event has shared its 2024 lineup, ripe with alternative and electronic talent.

On May 3 and 4, 2024, Shabang will bring its indie-electronic extravaganza back to the picturesque Dairy Creek Golf Course, where over 60 different artists will perform across four stages for the festival’s biggest edition to date.

Set amongst rolling hills in the Valley of the Nine Sisters, Shabang’s renowned Laguna Lake and Cuesta Ridge stages will host the festival’s alternative and indie acts, including Grammy-winning artist and bass virtuoso Thundercat, Canadian indie-pop band Peach Pit, surf-rock band Sun Room and American folk-rock group Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners.

Shabang’s electronic lineup will showcase a bevy of house stars led by Techne Records boss Noizu and Grammy-nominated duo SIDEPIECE

Another talented tech house duo, Walker & Royce will join the aforementioned artists on Shabang’s Funk Safari stage, alongside additional four-on-the-floor players like Kaleena Zanders, LF System, Nala, Silver Panda and Jackie Hollander.

Check out the complete lineup below.

Shabang began in 2014 after three college students at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo–Greg Golf, Carson Stone and Alexander Schwend–had the idea to throw one “last shabang” for 20 of their music-loving friends. Today, the West Coast weekender attracts over ten thousand attendees each year.

As the festival moves into its second decade, Shabang has outlined a number of improvements for 2024, including new camping packages at Chorro Regional Park Campground, art installations, performance aerliasts, yoga workshops and a revamped silent disco.

Tickets and camping packages for Shabang 2024 will be available here, starting Tuesday, January 30 at 11AM PT. For more information, visit shabangslo.com.
