No Mana, real name Jordan Orcaz, and SOFI (Sofia Toufa) have come together to release an elevated, 8-bit banger “Digital Friends,” out on Monstercat.
This track serves as an intricate tale of digital relationships, all while having a distinct video-game-like beat to round it out.
Hailing from Southern California, No Mana has continued to make a name for himself by integrating nostalgic 8-bit elements into his tracks. “Digital Friends” contains an electro house beat that is high energy and takes listeners through a journey that can only be compared to playing levels in a video game.
No Mana not only produces his songs, but is also responsible for creating the artwork and visuals on all his own tracks as well, including that of “Digital Friends.”
Gaining the attention of producer deadmau5 back in 2020, he has released many records on mau5trap. He also has garnered support from REZZ, EDDIE, and even the late i_o.
SOFI provides the lead vocals on “Digital Friends” as well as wrote the story behind the song. Written during the 2020 pandemic, “Digital Friends” explores the relationships we form online and how they can feel more real and intimate than physical relationships.
“Digital Friends” is the latest of many sonically beautiful tracks written and sung by SOFI. She also collaborated on “Sofi Needs a Ladder” with deadmau5, which was a part of his Grammy-nominated album 4×4=12.
