Today, Live Nation Entertainment has launched its 2024 scholarship program, partnering with the Music Forward Foundation to dish out $50,000 in scholarships to college students pursuing careers in the music and live entertainment industry.
The world’s leading live entertainment company will award five $10,000 scholarships to exemplary college or university students in their junior or senior year majoring in music, music business, production, or other related fields.
The scholarship program is designed to support students interested in the most pivotal aspects of the concert business, like concert promotion, venue operation ticketing, sponsorship, hospitality, artist management and more.
“We are happy to once again work with the Music Forward scholarship program as we continue to invest in talented, driven, and dedicated young people pursuing careers in live entertainment,” Live Nation Co-President of US Concerts Jordan Zachary said in a press release.
Scholarship recipients will be selected by a panel of industry executives and thought leaders across various academic, entertainment, civic, and corporate sectors.
$10,000 scholarships will be awarded in the following five areas:
The Governors Ball Scholarship, geared towards New York City students with concentrations in performance, music engineering and business; The Steven J. Finkel Service Excellence Scholarship, designed to support growing customer service expectations in the industry; The Tiffany Green Operator Scholarship, crafted to support women in live entertainment; And the David E. Ballard Scholarship, supporting youth who have experienced homelessness or the foster care system.
Applications are now open and must be submitted online by March 31, 2024. Application requirements include proof of academic achievement, essay responses and letters of recommendation.
