Today, Nashville-based DJ and producer Logan Garrett has released his new tech house single, “Deep End,” featuring fan-favorite alternative rapper Skizzy Mars.
After previously collaborating with rappers like Roscoe Dash, Rich Boy and Gorilla Zoe, Garrett’s link-up with Mars on the late-night club track is faithful to the producer’s hip-hop roots.
As both a manager for Nashville rapper Starlito and a DJ on the Southeast club circuit, Garrett has been working to meld electronic dance music and hip-hop for years. Combining his technical production with Mars’ indie-rap star power, “Deep End” arrives as Garrett’s next great crossover track.
“I’ve been a long-time fan of Skizzy Mars and he has constantly been in my most played artists for years,” Garrett shared in a press release. “I wanted to create a record that fit my style and that I could play in my club sets, but still capture the emotional vulnerability that is a cornerstone of Skizzy Mars’ music.”
“Even in the middle of a nationwide headlining tour and rolling out his new album he nailed the vision I had,” Garrett continued. “I’m proud to say that we accomplished that and I’m really happy to be sharing this record with the world.”
Garrett has been working plenty hard this year. “Deep End” follows his recent dance-rap fusion project, OD: The Lost Files By Starlito, released just last week.
Further collaborations with fellow producer Subrinse on the house tune “Kelly Rollin,” rapper Roscoe Dash on the dubstep single “Pitted,” and another MC, Mobsquad Nard, on the drum & bass track “Aliens Exist” showcase Garrett’s versatility.
In addition to holding down multiple residencies in Nashville, touring regionally and playing stadium DJ gigs with Nashville’s MLS soccer team, Garrett’s performance endeavors have seen him open for iconic artists like Kygo and Kx5, the latter of which came at Billboard‘s “The Stage at SXSW” during the 2023 festival.
