DJ Snake and Crankdat have teamed up to release their explosive new single, “Big Bang,” out now via Interscope Records.
Both artists are known to unleash chaos when they’re on the decks, but “Big Bang” stands as a rare divergence into the dubstep realm for Snake, who is known for his trap and bass house cuts.
The adrenaline-laced track combines production elements signature of the multi-platinum-selling French artist and one of U.S. dubstep’s brightest stars. It is a tornado of high-energy dubstep, electro, and glitch.
“Big Bang” opens with a sinister laugh, ominous police sirens, and thrillingly cinematic synths, warning listeners of the mayhem.
Soon, a powerful vocal breakdown launches the track into sonic armageddon, complete with the heaviest bass drops and a screeching saw lead. A quick switch to an electro-laced bass house keeps listeners on their toes before the penetrating synths return, and a dubstep beat reigns supreme once again.
“Big Bang” lands days ahead of DJ Snake’s set at Coachella this weekend. The track is sure to rock the festival’s famous Sahara Tent in his first trip back to the desert since 2019.
Huge venues are nothing new for Snake, whose performance resume includes the Super Bowl and Paris’ 60,000-capacity Parc des Princes, among other stadium gigs. Come May 2025, he’ll cross another massive venue off his performance bucket list: the 80,000-capacity Stade de France.
Crankdat will kick off his summer season with a California double-header. The Midwest bass talent’s Absolute Annihilation run will see him perform at The Midway in San Francisco and LA’s Hollywood Palladium this June 7 and 8. He continues to rise to the forefront of the dubstep scene on the back of his viral, genre-melding remixes and originals like “Dollars,” “Reasons to Run,” and “Welcome to the Jungle.”
