FREAKY, real name Alex Fricke, has just premiered his follow-up album to DUALITY: ASCENSION. The album contains 10 tracks that are all a reflection of FREAKY’s personal struggles and resiliency and hopes that fans resonate deeply.
Hailing from North Carolina, the bass producer has continued to gain traction in the music space with his energetic shows and take on bass music.
The versatile album contains a bevy of tracks that focus on different aspects of FREAKY’s life over the last decade. Each song comes together as an immersive story of how he has maintained a sustained climb throughout his life, looking to finally “Ascend.”
Standout songs on the album include “ARRIVAL” which sets the tone as a heavy dubstep track, the lyrics “Motherf**ker I’m back” letting listeners know that FREAKY is back and better than ever.
“SAVE US” with Celestial Void and Sara Benyo, placed in the middle of the album, also shows a softer side to FREAKY and is a melodic bass track with soulful vocals from Benyo.
“THE DEVIL” and “NEXT LEVEL” add to the record, both containing riddim elements that will make anyone headbang with their hard drops with “NEXT LEVEL” mixing in an unexpected psytrance break.
FREAKY shared on making the album, “I allowed myself to be vulnerable, I stayed sober, and I married my best friend.”
He continued, “I am ready to work harder than anyone. I am ready to be the best version of myself. I am ready to Ascend.”
FREAKY has continued to gain support in the dubstep scene, even releasing his first album on Excision’s Subsidia Records. He is currently on a spring tour, buy tickets to his tour here and stream ASCENSION below:
