Last month, Tape B announced his “Tape B and Friends Block Party” in Dallas, Texas. After tickets sold out in just two days, the experimental bass producer returned yesterday to announce a second edition of the curated party, this time in Austin.
After Tape B hits Dallas with EAZYBAKED, Zen Selekta, and more on June 15, Tape B and Friends round two will go down at Austin’s Far Out Lounge on Sunday, June 16, 2024.
The daytime party starts at 2:30PM and will feature a headline set from the acclaimed hip-hop-bass-hybrid selector. Tape B will be joined in support by viral trio Levity, Australian dubstep artist Leotrix, and breakbeat-meets-bass queen Mary Droppinz, among others.
“More homies” will be added to the roster in the coming weeks. Check out the full bill below.
Praised for his uniquely nostalgic approach to dubstep’s new-school sound, Tape B—real name Berk Alkanat—has been on a meteoric rise to bass music stardom over the last four years.
His SoundCloud remixes of classic hip-hop tunes are the talk of the bass community these days, in addition to landmark releases on innovative imprints like Wubaholics, WAKAAN and Deadbeats.
With a killer co-sign from Zeds Dead, Tape B made serious noise in the scene last year with his wildly popular remix of the aforementioned duo’s 2014 hit “Collapse,” and has stuck with the Deadbeats crew for his first two releases of 2024: a red-hot remix of Levity’s “Flip It” and “Trippy Land,” his new collaborative single with Mersiv and Juicy J.
Having already thrown down at legacy festivals like Ultra Miami and Coachella earlier this year, Tape B’s busy performance schedule will continue with appearances at Forbidden Kingdom, Ganja White Night’s Wobble Coliseum, Deep Tropics, and EDC Las Vegas, among other events.
A limited number of tickets for Tape B’s Block Party at The Far Out Lounge are still available here.
