Sara Landry and Alt8 have released their new collaborative single, “Heaven,” out now via Landry’s own HEKATE Records.
Released today, the Landry-described “summer bop” features growling synth undertones, driving kicks, and chopped vocal rhythms, marking the first link-up between the Austin, Texas-raised hard techno maven and Irish artist Alt8.
“We did three days in the studio at the beginning of April, and during one of those sessions we felt like making a cute little summer banger, so we did,” Landry said of the trance and acid-infused track in an interview with DJ Mag.
“This track is something really different for me. It’s fun, it’s sexy, it’s sunshine-ready and there’s nothing else out there like this right now,” she continued.
“Heaven” also serves as the first single off of Landry’s forthcoming debut album. The as-yet-untitled LP is slated for release later this summer.
Earlier this month, Landry’s landmark performance at EDC Las Vegas marked a huge moment for the hard techno genre, after changing locations to the festival’s larger circuitGROUNDS stage due to anticipatedly high attendance.
Earlier this week, the “high priestess of hard techno” announced her “biggest LA show to date” at Los Angeles’ 516 S. Anderson St. Tickets for the open-air, day-to-night show from Factory 93 and HEKATE sold out in under an hour this morning.
