Chris Stussy’s highly anticipated Boiler Room performance is now available to watch in full on YouTube.
The Dutch minimal tech master made his Boiler Room debut at the London-based party outfit’s world tour stop in Edinburgh, Scotland last month, playing a 75-minute set full of his trademark bounce and ripe with unreleased tracks.
“a big smile on my face at my first @boilerroomtv set yesterday in Edinburgh,” Stussy wrote on Instagram after the performance. “the energy you gave for the full 75 minutes was something i’m so grateful for.”
Stepping up to the decks in front of a massive crowd at Edinburgh’s Warehouse ‘92, Stussy opened up his mix with a donk-heavy edit of Moby’s 1992 track “Go,” late Detroit techno trailblazer Aaron-Carl’s “Drive (Downriver Dub)” and his rework of Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 2,” before weaving through a maze of IDs.
About halfway through, several tracks from Stussy and fellow Dutch star Locklead’s new Across Boundaries EP appear, including fan-favorite grooves like “T.M.P” and “Pumpin’.” The five-track package, titled Synergy, was released on Stussy’s own Up the Stuss label last week, arriving as the second installment in their Across Boundaries series, following 2023’s Sense of Future.
Other notable tracks from Stussy’s Boiler Room debut include Dublin duo Obskür’s unreleased “I’ve Arrived,” Moroccan producer Kosh’s breakbeat-infused “Come On,” and Stussy’s coveted unreleased track, “Bounce To The Beat,” before closing emphatically with an acapella edit of Todd Terry’s famous “Something Going On” featuring Martha Wash, Jocelyn Brown and Roland Clark.
Consistently hailed as one of the scene’s most exciting names at the forefront of a new Rominimal-influenced movement taking hold in the Netherlands, Stussy is best known for his uptempo club cuts “All Night Long” and “Midtown Playground.” Since its launch in 2020, his vinyl-driven Up The Stuss imprint has welcomed releases from artists like Kolter, Lee Burton, Varhat and more.
