Deadbeats Shares Release Date, Full Tracklist For ‘We Are Deadbeats Vol. 6’

Deadbeats has shared the release date and full tracklist for its sixth label compilation.

We Are Deadbeats Vol. 6 will arrive on Zeds Dead’s famous label this Friday, August 23, and features 20 tracks from some of bass music’s most buzzed-about and too-often-slept-on rising stars, including a new collaborative original from the founding duo.

Rumors of the compilation’s forthcoming release began swirling on social media last week when the label and each of the 27 artists featured on Vol. 6 posted the message, “WEAREDEADBEATS,” to X, formerly Twitter—a tradition that has given fans a pre-release sneak peek into each label sampler through the years.

Among the artists who shared the rallying cry and have joined the latest class of Deadbeats on Vol. 6 are South African producer CHEE—teaming up with Zeds Dead for their collaborative tune, “Tomb of the Scorpion”—Abstrakt Sonance, Evalution, Cimm, Steller, VEIL, Skellytn, and more.

Elsewhere on the compilation are collaborative tracks from Lumasi & Ghost Lotus, MontyCler & STVSH, HerShe & Seth David, and Wraz. & PAV4N, among others. Check out the full tracklist below.

Since its debut in 2017, the We Are Deadbeats series has become an unofficial marker for the state of bass music at large. With a history of spotlighting the genre’s biggest superstars before they blew up—Subtronics, Rezz, Mersiv, and many more appeared on early volumes—each compilation lives on as a snapshot of bass music’s ever-evolving sound.

The last Deadbeats compilation, We Are Deadbeats Vol. 5, was released in 2022 and featured several of the past two years’ breakout bass stars, including Zingara, Tape B, MYTHM, Smoakland, and more.
