Sara Landry has announced her awaited debut album, Spiritual Driveby.
Set to arrive on October 4 via her own HEKATE Records imprint, the LP is described as a “testament to the power of collective energy, one which unfolds as a visceral odyssey meant to feel both intensely personal and universally shared,” according to a press release, demonstrating the Austin, Texas-based hard techno frontrunner’s “artistic duality and intuitive depth.”
Among the 12 tracks on Spiritual Driveby are previously released singles “Heaven” with Alt8, “Prisoner” with Alex Farell, and “Pressure” with LEGZDINA, alongside further collaborative productions with fellow Texan and massively influential producer Mike Dean, fellow genre stalwarts like Nico Moreno and Shlømo, and even Landry’s personal hypnotist, who lent vocals for the album’s prelude.
“This sonic offering was motivated and inspired by the notion that none of us are alone because we are all energetically linked,” Landry said of the album in a press release. “Everything we do is interwoven and collaborative, whether we realize it or not. Every musical experience we’ve ever had, every show we’ve been to, every euphoric moment that echoes across time has been a collaborative experience and a stacking of energies.”
Spiritual Driveby follows a landmark year for the self-anointed “high-priestess of hard techno,” who last month became the first artist in the genre to play on Tomorrowland’s lauded main stage, representing both Landry and hard techno’s ascent to the big-time.
Following her performance at Chicago’s ARC Music Festival and a doubleheader at Los Angeles’ 516 Anderson St. last weekend, Landry will play San Francisco’s Portola Music Festival later this month ahead of appearances at Time Warp Spain, Detroit’s Building 6, III Points and more.
