Okeechobee Will Not Return In 2025

Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival will not return in 2025.

The South Florida camping festival’s founding promoter, Soundslinger, and its partner, Insomniac Events, initially planned to bring Okeechobee back in 2025 but have “decided that some extra time will allow us to deliver a better festival experience,” Soundslinger founder Rechulski—aka Julio Mario Santo Domingo III—wrote in a statement posted to social media today.

In August 2023, the festival announced it would take a fallow year in the spring of 2024 in an effort to return to “more diverse multi-genre lineups,” The Festive Owl reported.

“Rest assured, we, the Okee OGs, are working hard behind the scenes to curate a colorful lineup that blends nostalgic favorites with emerging artists, crafting unique experiences that fully immerse you in the spirit of Okeechobee,” the statement continued. “In a space where music festivals can look and feel the same, we’re getting back to our roots, focusing on ‘only at Okeechobee’ performances, experiences and magic.”

Soundslinger also announced that it will open “various initiatives” that invite fans to help “shape the future of OMF” as a community-centric festival experience. Fans can sign up for the festival’s official newsletter at okeechobeefest.com and join the festival’s official Discord to give their input.

Founded in 2016, Okeechobee has grown to draw over 30,000 attendees to its 600-acre Sunshine Grove site in Okeechobee County each year. Its latest edition in 2023 featured performances from ODESZA, GRiZ, Excision, Earth, Wind & Fire, Goose, Turnstile, and more.
