Las Vegas’ New Free Neon City Festival Unveils Inaugural Lineup

Neon City Festival

Las Vegas’ new Neon City Festival has announced its inaugural lineup.

Billed as a “festival without fences,” the free all-ages music and food festival will take place across a sprawling footprint in downtown Las Vegas from November 22-24, the same weekend the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix comes to town. Headline performances will come from EDM favorites Alison Wonderland and Seven Lions, indie rock band Neon Trees, and pop-country singer-songwriter Russell Dickerson.

“Neon City will be a great way for music lovers of all genres to come together in a thrilling environment,” festival CEO Jeff Victor said in a press release. “The lineup includes everything from rock to hip-hop, country and EDM—on every corner, there will be an incredible artist performing a free show.”

Further electronic performances will come from cutting-edge producer and bass music veteran Mr. Carmack and dance-pop DJ duo Krewella, among others. Elsewhere, fans can catch Las Vegas’ own Adelita’s Way and Ekoh, rock and alternative bands like Lit, lovelytheband, and Filter, country acts like Restless Road, and hip-hop staples like Twista and Luniz

In addition to music, Neon City Festival will feature food and drink specials from local restaurants and bars; laser art shows, street entertainers and a special 3D show on the Fremont Street Experience’s famous “Viva Vision” LED canopy; and citywide block parties, pop-ups, and other surprises, according to a press release.

Macklemore was previously announced as a headliner but was removed from the lineup “due to unforeseen circumstances,” according to Las Vegas Weekly. Check out the full lineup below. Set times and stage locations will be announced in the coming weeks.

Neon City’s sizable festival footprint, which involves cooperation from 14 area venues and properties, will extend from the Fremont East District to the Fremont Street Experience and Downtown Las Vegas Events Center, and from the Arts District to Las Vegas Blvd. and the STRAT hotel and casino.

Founded by downtown Las Vegas casino developer and owner Derek Stevens, Neon City Festival was initially unveiled in July after securing a $1 million sponsorship from the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority. KNTV Las Vegas reported that the move was an attempt by the city to capitalize on “hype” around the Las Vegas Grand Prix after overestimated tourism projections for last year’s race left thousands of resort hotel rooms empty.
