Costa Rica’s Envision Festival will take a year off in 2025.
Organizers of the week-long beachfront festival held annually in Uvita, Costa Rica, announced the decision to officially postpone Envision to 2026 on social media last weekend, writing that the pause will afford the event “the opportunity to rebuild with intention, creating a stronger foundation that honors where we’ve come from, our mission and the values we stand for.”
“Our commitment to you—our staff, attendees, and the local Costa Rican community—remains unwavering,” their statement continued before unveiling the festival’s theme for 2026. “We are dedicated to returning in 2026 with an event that goes Back to our Roots, fully reflecting the values that Envision stands for.”
An additional statement posted to Envision’s website cited economic and health impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic, rising costs, and industry shifts as “existential challenges” to the independently owned and operated gathering in recent years.
“These experiences have taught us valuable lessons about sustainability and leadership, strengthening our resolve in Envision’s role as a catalyst for reconnecting humanity with nature,” the statement reads. “We remain grateful for the ups and downs and, more of all, to have this community to support each other through it all.”
In addition to musical performances at the convergence of psychedelic and electronic music, Envision Festival, which first arrived on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast in 2011, is known for its attention to community well-being and sustainability, culminating in personal growth workshops, movement and yoga classes, and sustainability education programming.
This year’s event was held from March 4-11 and featured performances from Daily Bread, LSDREAM, Of The Trees, Dubfire, and The Polish Ambassador, among others.
The 2024 edition was also marked by tragedy, as one attendee was reportedly kidnapped and found dead three hours away after attending the festival, according to Costa Rican news outlet La Nación.
